Kimura Takuya is a Japanese actor, entertainer, singer, and voice actor born in Tokyo. He is represented by Johnny's. He was a member of the male idol group SMAP from 1988 until they disbanded in 2016 and is currently a solo artist. He is known by the nickname "Kimutaku".

After joining Johnny's in November 1987, he became a member of "Skate Boys". The following April, he was one of the chosen juniors to form the idol group SMAP. They went on to debut in September 1991. His first lead role in "Asunaro Hakusho" in 1993 as an actor as well as his subsequent appearance in "Wakamono no Subete" in 1994 resulted in him gaining a lot of attention as an actor. He appeared in the movie "Shoot!" in 1994 and won the Nikkan Sports Film Award and the Elan d'Or Award for Newcomers.

Became the first male star to advertise lipsticks for the Kanebo Testimo II range, in February 1996. The brand's sales figures nearly tripled within a single month, since the launch of the campaign.

He has been married to singer Kudo Shizuka since December 5, 2000. He has two children with her, the models Cocomi and Koki. His younger brother, Kimura Shunsaku, was a member of Japan's National American Football Team.
